I received a package all the way from the U.S. of A today from Sanna and this is what was in the package...


Sanna found this checkers set at a garage sale and thought of me, THANK YOU Sanna for the Betty Boops and the goodies, such a sweet thing to do xxxx

 

Then my Journal came home to me, and the art work in it is BEAUTIFUL, this one by Tracy Kaufmann













and Denice created the girl in black and white and then showed her as she emerges from the butterfly in her beautiful colors, fantastic xx

Gifts and Buys

I promised to share with you the delightful gifts I received from Linda



She sent me the fabulous Betty Boop tin which she bought in San Franciso... inside the tin there was a Betty Boop bandana, perfect to wear when I go out in Stuart's TVR with the roof down - very Thelma and Louise stylie don't you think?!!!
Also in the tin was the beautiful bracelet with charms on it, and some gorgeous ribbons - diamantes and braiding, really pretty.There was also a wooden dowel with the most exquisite paper in a teal color with gold... The gifts brought a huge smile to my face THANK YOU LINDA for thinking of me xxxx


Remember I told you that we went to Rye and I bought a Mannequin and some bottles...

 

Well here they are... I have draped some of my costume jewellery over the mannequin, going to hang bracelets from the loops on the bottom.
And they bottles are fabulous. I am going to be doing a workshop run by Zeb on The Latest Trends in Mixed Media Arts
These is a really friendly group with lots going on...I don't always manage to do projects but there are always really cool ones to check out, and a great book by the same name can be purchased with wonderful projects in it.

The bottles are going to be altered with waxes... I will post when I have done them.

What else is new? Not much really. It has been a quiet week for me as it is Champions League week so football takes precedent. That's just me can't live without football.
Spent a really pleasant evening with Dwain and Charlotte; they are such a lovely couple :-) Dwain makes me laugh so much, he has such an abundance of confidence, brilliant.
He bought me 100 Classic Book Collection for the DS so I can always have something to read in my bag...wicked!

Keep waiting for the weather to get warmer, there have been a few rays of sunshine, but I want MORE!
I can't believe that we are nearly into March, another year galloping past - my mum always told me they go by quicker the older you get and she was SO right!

I am so tired this evening so I think I will finish of here...

Shoes and Book Spread

 

Yesterday I was able to work in "How the West was Fun" an Altered Book for the I.C.E. Yahoo group. Being a Betty Boop fan I thought it would be appropriate to make her the theme for my spread - after all it is How the West was FUN! So here it is. I colored Betty using Sakura pens so she has a nice rich glaze and the added the embellishments.
I went shopping to Bluewater on Saturday and found this wonderful shoe that was just screaming out to me to be bought and altered, so I shall endeavour to do just that some time soon.
 
Yesterday evening I was debating whether to stay home or go and watch Croydon F.C. play in the 1st round of the League Cup; staying at home would have given me 6 hours to myself but I couldn't do it as my son Jazz likes me to watch him play. They ended up winning 4 - 1 so worth missing out on those crafting hours lol.
We are experiencing some nice weather at the moment so that is a blessing. I keep seeing the devastation on the news that the hurricane caused in Texas, awful, just awful I am so glad that hurricanes are a rarity here! My son Dwain was supposed to go to Cuba last Monday but had his holiday cancelled because of the hurrican that hit there, instead he flew out to the Maldives with his girlfriend Charlotte on Sunday and I am sure they will love it there!

Betty on the tree

Well I have had a bit of fun today, I decorated the tree, which is generally the 1st thing I do when I get here for Christmas - get me in the mood and all that.

Anyway the tree did have a traditional angel on the top but I changed it today! Check the photos - my daughter was sooooooooooo not impressed, lol, thinks it looks tacky! BETTY tacky!!! how dare she.......

I may take her down or I may leave her up, who knows - why not let me know what YOU think. Maybe I should have a poll.

The weather has been a bit cloudy today, but not as cold as England 18 degrees so I shouldn't complain...

I am going up to see my mates Rob and Tom at Cha Cha Muebles whilst here this time as they have had a new delivery since my last visit.

Christmas shopping still has to be done, important things got (what's that you ask) christmas crackers and cranberry sauce; turkey next thing to be purchased.

Yesterday went to the Carrefour (large supermarket like Walmart) and bought the best olives - they were plump ones stuffed with pimento and wrapped in a fresh anchovy (my little treat to me) extortionate price 27 euros a kilo!!! FOR OLIVES what is the world coming to?

needless to say I didn't buy a kilo just 7 euros worth.

What could you not live without over the festive period? Come on, tell me - it can be our secret lol.

That's it for now, going to disappear into art room to work on that Coffee table chunky book.

Laminating and Tattoos!

Yesterday I purchased my QK machine, so I shall have some fun with that soon. I resisted the urge to get stuck into using it when the family were out at football training. I had my heart set on another project, you know how it is, you have a job that you want to do but just dont get around to it, that has been the case with me. I had purchased all the UM stamps and needed to sort them all out, so having started by trimming and then coating with the glue, it was now time to organise.

I am well chuffed with the results, laminated sheets which I had stamped with images and then stuck them on, now they can go into ring binder folder neatly (think I did 25 sheets last night). Amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it (sure my mum always used to say that - must be turning into my mum LOL)!!!

My DH went and had another tattoo done today, one that he has been wanting for a while. He was so anti tattoos before his 40th birthday, now he cant get enough of them!!!

I would dearly love a "Betty Boop" but I am too much of a coward so I cant see that ever happening. Watch this space LOL.
