Another face

Sketch for next canvase. Really difficult sketching without a rubber! or maybe it helps cos you have to go with what you have done...

Spent the day by myself so thought I would try another face. Sketched her out first and then painted on canvas. Let me know what you think please... Thank you
This was done with burnt umber, titanium white, ultramarine blue and a bit of red. Finished it off with carandach pencils...
The background needs to be completed, text to add at some point and got to work on the dress.

I've been looking at all your faces, and I think you are growing and creating with each new version!

I agree Dawn! This face seems more "relaxed" which I think reflects your comfort level with the process. I think it's amazing that you are at this level after just a few weeks! Keep on going! You are so talented and determined, I'm proud of you! Hugs, Carol

Eyes are a lot better, the neck is ridiculously long and the others look like a kid did them...Call me Simon Cowell :o)

Dawn this one is fantastic! Reminds me so much of Paul Gauguin! Now I do not like him as a person but I sure loved him for his art! I like you for both! I am thinking you might like to look up some of his works. Maybe try some brights in there too. Reminds me of an ISLAND girl! She would be even better with maybe a red Parakeet or maybe a red wing on one side of her back. Just thoughts though I also love her just as she is! Hugs, Sanna

I came here from Jeanie's blog and am so glad I did. I love your blog, and this painting is very good. The eyes are very expressive.

Oops, I forgot to ask....how did you like the art class with Paulette Insall. I'm thinking of taking that class if it's good.

Just had a little look at your blog - I love the little houses, and the faces. Funnily enough, it's always faces that I draw when I doodle, and eyes especially. Great minds, etc. I also love that you aren't afraid of colour. All the best, Susie
