Cakes for Dorothea

A couple of weeks ago I made my 1st cakes for a very long time, I blogged about it and tried to upload a picture but it just wouldn't happen so I deleted the blog. Anyway today I made some more as I was so happy about my fairy slippers arrival from the States. Here is a picture of the cakes with the slippers and both went down a treat in my family. So now I can look my friends Lorraine, Sam and Gabby in the eye and say I have joined the club as far as cake making goes lol, they are all wonderful cake makers.
Anyway Thanks for indulging me with my crazy blogging, hugs Dawn

Hi, Dawn -- I've been so absent from your blog (and the rest of the internet and my life!) for the past couple of weeks, but I'm back -- posting again, finally, and visiting, trying to catch up. So, this comment is really for a number of things below --your yummy cakes in this post; the dear heart-shaped deco; your amazing and fabulous new car! The collage pages for the pirate and the other RR book are exquisite, especially the vintage ones. I'm always delighted when I visit you to see your work.

You'll be pleased (I hope) to know that I haven't forgotten my six-word memoir and I am hoping to post it tomorrow or Saturday. That's harder than it seems. (I'm the person who thought 25-page term papers were a snap; it was the six-pagers that made me crazy!)

So nice to visit again. I always feel good when I stop here!

Ok..while I am there walking around in the red fairy slippers I will say "Let them eat Cake" isn't that a famous English or maybe French Quote from some of your royalty? lol Of course I will only say those famous words, AFTER I have eaten my "fair" share of the cake.

These look delicious... what flavor are they? As I am from the US making cakes seems utterly decadent to me. I've no experience with it. I'd love to live where making cakes is something you do and enjoy. Here it is just race to the next moment sort of things... no decadence, no luxury.
